I love architecture and fantasy, so when I saw this artist's work this morning I was really excited. Christina Shurt has amazing paintings with brilliant color combinations and thick, deliberate brush strokes. She combines memory with actual structures to form her paintings. The images remind me of dreams and old stories I read as a child. Somehow they have reminded me of Ray Bradbury and the way he describes places with nostalgic weavings of multi-sensory experiences.
I am holding my breath waiting to post some images of four paintings I have been working on the last few weeks. I was commissioned to paint underwater scenes and I had so much fun painting them and researching creatures who live in the sea. I deliver them tomorrow, so I will be able to share them after that.

christmas in july sale!

So, for one week (July 17-July 25 ) I am having a sale on all of my paintings posted on Etsy. They were $35, but this week they are $30. Every day I will be posting one new painting for sale, so check back if you don't see anything you adore yet. Just think about it, you can get your Christmas shopping done now and not have to worry about it again. You don't even have to go anywhere, just click through images of paintings until you find one you want to adopt. Then you can enjoy your holiday with no worries about shopping.

One more thing. I do commissions now, so if you have something specific in mind, just send me a note and we can discuss details. I paint in colored India Ink on wood panels in a style like the ones you see here on my blog. I am in the middle of a commission now, but if you are planning way ahead, let me know.

So, the egret painting is finished. I re-posted a picture of it when it was at the beginning stages. Then, above it is the image of the finished piece, titled "Everything is Connected".
The very first image is a bunch of paintings I have been working on which I will be selling tomorrow, Sunday, July 4 at the I4 fest going on at Austin's Coffee. There will be more than 20 bands playing, lots of art for sale, lots of good food and drinks for sale. It's just $5 to celebrate the 4th of July with so much going on! It should be fun. Check it out: I4 Fest. 12 am to 12 pm. See you tomorrow!
